Mahdi Hussein

Mahdi was called to the bar in 2017 and is a lawyer at AMR LLP.

His practice encompasses a broad range of civil and commercial litigation, including insurance defence, property damage, fraud, construction disputes, and professional negligence.

As part of his practice, Mahdi routinely defends insurers and appears at the Ontario Superior Court of Justice. He has also assisted in several jury and non-jury trials and has also assisted in appeals at the Nova Scotia Court of Appeal.

Mahdi has published a number of articles on topics ranging from the interpretation of exclusionary clauses in insurance policies to the professional negligence of auditors in the course of public offerings.

Prior to joining the firm in 2017, Mahdi articled at a prominent litigation boutique in Toronto. He obtained his Juris Doctor from Osgoode Hall Law School in 2016. During his time at law school, Mahdi was selected to serve as a deans fellow for both constitutional and criminal law. He also completed the intellectual property clinic and worked in Ottawa as a legal student at Innovation, Science, and Economic Development Canada.

He is a member of the Advocates Society, Canadian Bar Association, and the Ontario Bar Association.
